What a great month of February it was with all the snow, but it will be good to see Spring!

At St Martin's, Spring not only brings nicer weather but also our Monte Carlo Night. This is traditionally our largest event of the year!  Last year, we had record attendance and revenue, introduced a large cash prize winner at the end of the night, enhanced our pallets with a nice meal and of course brought the community of St Martin's together for a great cause - enhancing our Arts program for the children.

We want to build on the consistent success of this event and try to make it bigger and better this year. We have listened to input from you on how to improve on this event - from the offering of alternative gaming choices, to the construction of how the evening 'flows' and even to the finer details of what the tickets should look like!  Keep these coming as it improves the experience of the night for everyone!

Based on this input and some of the feedback from this past Monday night meeting, we are reintroducing or adding the traditional gaming into Monte Carlo night.   We have marketed this as a Night at the Races evening up until now and believe, based on your feedback, that we should also have the gaming choices for your enjoyment.

We will combine the 2 activities (gaming and races) to not only increase the chances of winning but also to add additional excitement to this year's event.  The communication for the Night at the Races in terms of tickets and sponsorships for horses has already been distributed - there will be fewer races so the chance to sponsor a horse will be limited. We will also be communicating this week the gaming offers - such as 'early bird' chip offerings, etc.

We are trying to continually grow this event in terms of attendance, fun, prizes, sponsorships, volunteers and of course revenue. We are asking for help in both ideas and manpower to increase all of these facets of the event. Please consider volunteering or spreading the word of this great event.

Thank you,

Chris Hageman
