Home & School Association

As we enter the last 30 or so days of school, I know our minds begin to drift towards the summer.  However, we are still going strong on some Home and School activities that not only help the less fortunate but also bring some fun to our families.

First I wanted to thank everyone for another great Monte Carlo.  This year we introduced the horse racing which brought great excitement – especially to the last race of the night, The New Hope Derby!.  The winner of this race was Canned Pudding owned by the Flahive’s who took home the big prize.  We grossed just under $30,000 for the night and are still calculating our profit.  A special thank you to all the volunteers whose time and dedication to this event is what made it successful.  From the HAS board, THANK YOU!!

We are currently in the middle of our clothing drive – please rummage through those closets and bring in any clothes that you can donate.  This helps people that are not as lucky are in the St. Martin’s community.

Three events are upcoming:

·         Mother/Son Trenton Thunder Baseball Game – this Sunday May 16^th

·         Family Appreciation Night – Friday, May 21^st.  This is our final family fun night of the year and it features a Balloon Magician and of course the annual ice cream social.  Please come out and share in this event with the family

·         HAS meeting – June 3^rd.  This is the final HAS meeting of the year and we will be introducing the new Board at this meeting as well as reviewing the year. 

Finally, Congratulations to the newly elected board members for the 2010-2011 school year.  Christine Peluso will be the Vice President and Rusty Olimpo will be our Treasurer.
